Players at US U-20s’ disposal “more than 200″
There’s an interesting article over at MLSsoccer.com about the U-20s latest efforts to recruit players with American passports. After a poor showing at the last Under-20 World Cup, the USA invested significant resources toward an international scouting department which over the last year and a half has produced astonishing results. The good news: We were [...]
Wilmer Cabrera’s plans to change the mentality of the American soccer player
There’s a good article about u-17 coach Wilmer Cabrera over at US Soccer Players. My knowledge of Cabrera is fairly limited, but I really like what I’ve heard from him. I think his approach is exactly what the US system needs. I know one man can’t change the way an entire country trains its youngsters, [...]
Sebastian Lletget making progress at West Ham
Soccernet has a good article about 17-year-old American Sebastian Lletget, who currently plies his trade at West Ham. Sounds like he’s doing well and could make his debut this year. According to scout Mike Leigh, West Ham super scout Jimmy Hampson once told him that Lletget is the best 14-year-old to ever play for the [...]

That didn’t take long. Everyone [...]

Brek Shea to Fulham?
Extra Footie is reporting that Fulham are interested in buying Brek Shea from FC Dallas for £2 million. Good for him. I know he’s a top prospect for the USA and Dallas, but I was pretty unimpressed with his performance at the u-20 world cup.
U.S. eliminated from U-20 World Cup
It’s official now. Our boys are out. I’m not sure anyone really wanted to watch that team play another match anyway.
U-20 World Cup: USA 4-1 Cameroon – Highlights
[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cort5bgkIIQ] Well, that ended up being a great second half.
New haircuts for the U-20s
[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=445BxlFFMHs] My issue here isn’t with Ike Opara’s new haircut. I think it looks pretty sharp. My problem is with the blond joker who’s sporting the John-Harkes-circa-1990 hairdo. Is that cool now? I feel like I’m back on my U-12 team.

Joseph Gyau = Renken 2: Electric Boogaloo?
We here at P2010 found an interesting article this morning on the next American up-and-comer and newer/better version of Charles Renken, Joseph Gyau. In all seriousness, it’s a good article about a player we knew little about. And we, for two, are very excited about this kid. That said, the article was a little depressing [...]

US U-17s Thrash Mexico 4-1
Since we mentioned part one of yesterdays double-header in an earlier post (the US U-17s played Mexico in Tampa before the National Team took the field), we thought it’d be appropriate to follow up. Looks like our boys put together a strong performance against our rivals from the south. Kellen Gulley opened scoring on a [...]
